26 June 2020

We’re pleased to announce that from the start of July we are able to offer face-to-face consultations with Dr Jenner at his Harley Street Pain Clinic in London and with Dr Ivan Ramos-Galvez in Reading or (from 17 July) in Harley Street, London.  Details of the procedures to follow in London are here. Reading details will follow shortly.

Video consultations will continue to be offered by the other experts to carry out medical examinations. This is in line with accepted practice in the NHS who are increasingly using video conference software for their own patient consultations. Our software is GDPR compliant and the consultation will remain confidential between the expert and claimant in a private setting. The personal/confidential patient information will be safeguarded in the same way as a face-to-face medical consultation.  If you and your client prefer a face-to-face consultation, we can provisionally book the appointment to go ahead at the earliest opportunity.

In line with the requirement of Insurance Companies and Medco issued on 23 March 2020 (Remote Examinations Conditions), consultations via videoconference will be recorded from 30 March 2020 and stored for 6 months post-settlement. Recordings will only be released to the instructing solicitor IF the insurer or court requires it to be made available.

We have prepared some ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ to answer your legal and data protection questions for video consultations, outline how we will run sessions, the technology we will use and the procedures we will continue to follow to ensure identity checks are completed as part of the consultation. Please get in touch on 0207 118 0650 or if you have any questions we haven’t covered in this document or you would like to discuss a case with our team or arrange an appointment.
